Trailer Thursday: Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

Still stuck in the doldrums of winter, here's another selection to look forward to for the summer. If you like Steve Carrell in quiet, lonely, everyman mode and don't find Keira Knightly too annoying, you may find something in this edge of the apocalypse comedy. Seems like a sweet story, but one we've seen a thousand times over in the last 10 years. On the other hand, you could be watching Ghost Rider. Here is Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

  1. Even in Hollywood it takes the apocalypse for us to believe that Keira Knightly would ever be interested in Steve Carrell

  2. How come we don't see the flipside of these kinds of movies? It's always the hot chick falling for the "lovable loser" type. Whenever Hollywood tries to do this the other way around it is just ridiculous. Are we really supposed to believe that Anne Hathaway and J.Lo are mousy and plain just waiting for prince charming?

I want to see a movie where the female equivalent of Steve Buscemi snags Gerard Butler.

  3. Wow, that trailer is like, "movie trailer editing 101".

Also, after Never Let Me Go, i am inherently skeptical of anything Keira Knightly does where she appears disheveled. Actually, make that "anything Keira Knightly does".
