High School Senior Handily Defeats Incumbent Mayor in Iowa Election

I had to double-check that this article wasn't published on the onion. Nope. Completely true. He not only won, he did so as a write-in with a 3:1 vote ratio.

The most surprising thing in this whole story, to me, isn't that the incumbent mayor only received 8 votes, or that this small town has an impressive 44% voter turn-out rate, but that 50% of the comments attribute his win to a stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

Incidentally, I have seen Parks and Recreation and I know that this does not end well.
